The mantra at our school this month:

From little things, big things grow...

Kinder Orientation— fun and tear-free!

Starting ‘Big School’ can be exciting, confusing and terrifying—and that’s just the mums and dads! With this in mind we’re running a very flexible and relaxed Kinder Orientation Program for budding kinders (and their nervy folks!) from Thursday, August 27, starting with a Parent Tour and Morning Tea. Whether you’re intending to enrol in 2016 or just want to have a peek, everyone is welcome to come along and see what we have to offer. The key is to help your little one feel comfortable in ‘Big School’, meet other kids, and answer ques- tions that crop up. The

Program runs from 9.30am - 11.30am over four Thursdays (Aug 27, Sept 10, Oct 22, and Nov 5). Come one morning, come all four, or organ- ise a date that suits you: 6684 9134.

From the heights of the Snowy Mountains to the halls of Byron High, it’s been an action-packed term so far...

Ski buddies

Didn’t we pick the perfect time to hit the slopes?! With snowfall at record levels, the Years 5 and 6 students donned their brightest beanies for an adventurous journey to Canberra and the Snowy Mountains. Joining the senior students from other local schools, this incredible excursion is held every two years and is a fun opportunity for the kids to get to know each other better while also getting familiar with their nation’s capital. Then, with politics out of the way, they headed to the slopes to try their hand at skiing. A big THANK YOU to our fearless leader Tracey Barnes who survived the return bus journey with her humour (and sanity) intact!

Warm curries, wonderful sportsmanship, whirring robots, here’s just a taste of what we’ve been up to...

Happy tummies

Each winter we hold a community Curry Night at the school grounds, and this year’s was particularly magical with the fire burning and candles flickering. Families from the school and surrounds turned up with pots of aromatic curry to share and enjoyed the opportunity to catch up outside of school hours (and discuss things other than P&C biz!)
